I come from a close-knit family where family ties, trust and being there for each other are very important values that have shaped the way I view the world. As a photographer and filmmaker I focus on intimacy, connection and closeness. Creating photos and videos with a documentary character.
With my work I want to capture what is important right now: connection. In these times of distrust, misunderstanding of each other and increasing divisions in society, I want to create a counter movement with my work. Showing that we are all connected, that we are all human and essentially the same.
In my work I focus on the bond between me and the person in front of my camera. This is what fascinates me, that connection. This relationship is always the foundation and starting point of my projects. The silent, intimate moment that I photograph in my work as a statement against that division.
